White Collar Litigation
The Project
LawyerLink assisted a commercial litigation firm in its defense of a corporation against a ten count criminal indictment, including five felonies, regarding alleged regulatory violations.
Challenges Met
- In the initial phase of the project, LawyerLink’s 12-attorney team reviewed documents covering wide-ranging subject matter, from technical documents to expert consultant reports.
- In subsequent phases, our team was asked to compile a privilege log and to assist the law firm attorneys with deposition and trial preparation.
- Team size and member duties were adjusted to meet evolving case demands.
High Performance Delivered
- The LawyerLink team outperformed all expectations and became an integral part of the client’s litigation team.
- Our team leader initially served as liaison to outside counsel providing status reports and coding protocol suggestions. Soon, he was asked to participate in substantive case discussions and organization.
- The team identified witness documents and prepared witness interview summaries.
- The team analyzed technical data, government trial exhibits and evidence, located rebuttal evidence, and prepared drafts of motions in limine.
- At trial commencement, the team leader spent five days in Texas reviewing 80 boxes of recently located documents and assisting in trial preparation.
- During the trial, the team leader fulfilled requests for documents stored in Summation and responded to all emergency situations.
UPDATE: The client recently hired the same LawyerLink team to work on a subsequent project. The team leader has been designated to conduct witness interviews at the corporate offices in Texas.
